Educational Background B.Sc. (Botany), University of Colombo; M.F.S. (Forest Science), Yale University; PhD (Plant Physiological Ecology), Yale University; Post-doctoral Fellow, UCSD/NIH; Post-doctoral Fellow, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Plant Physiological Ecology).

Research Interests Plant physiological ecology, seed biophysiology, forest regeneration dynamics, epiphytic seed germination, dispersal and recruitment limitation; tropical and transitional subtropical forest dynamics; Orchidaceae, Ficus, pioneer trees.

Teaching Interests Plant physiological ecology, biodiversity conservation, development of student and faculty key competencies for research and education, academic and industry landscape of research journal publications.
