The onlin e content may offer a wealth of opportunities to engage our students in cu tting edge botanical science. As a community of educators we will discuss ways in which this content might be useful. We will also discuss perspecti ves of content creators and how we can create informed consent and benefic ial collaborations through continued use of our work. Botanical Society of America will receive a report about our ideas and suggestions. Our group discussion will cover: How might various types of educators use Botany co nference content in their courses or with their lab groups? How might educ ators use the content to improve their teaching? What additional resources might educators use to augment the talks (ie. The lab website, scicomm, p ublications related to the topic, conversation with the author)? What are some perspectives or concerns as content creators (those who recorded talk s) that we should consider for using content this year? For next year if i t is a hybrid meeting? What structures should BSA put into use to facilita te information or consent choices when talks are submitted next year? What are barriers to educator or student participation in utilizing these reso urces? Everyone should come ready to share with the group one or two idea s of talks or other conference materials you would like to use in some way this year. This event is free and requires no pre-registration. It is lim ited to the first 100 participants. Click here to join the event.
