Thur 5/26/05 8:39 PM - T16: - I think the reason the seeds absorbed more color closer to the last day was because the soy beans surroundings and enviroment. -Mandi - i think why the seeds changed color were because there were was still color from the day before so it helped it. -Hali -i think the sprouts didnt change color because the seed itself was absorbing all the dye so the sprout couldent absorb any. -Trish -i think the reason my soy beans changed color was because there was a residue of the dye still on the dye over night. -Allison

Fri 6/7/2005 10:25 AM - Dr. Jenny Archibald: Hi Duckies – the influence of environmental factors, such as your addition of dyes, on plant growth can be very important - but what was your specific research question? I didn't see any hypotheses in your journal, what were some of your initial ideas about how color might influence germination or growth of seedlings? What kinds of data did you gather to determine whether your ideas were correct? Did you germinate some seedlings with dye and some without to see the difference? What type of dye did you use? Different types might have very different effects on germination.
