Greetings!

October 10, 2006

OK, I agree Chico was a fantastic scientific conference. We now have the opportunity to make Chicago an even better learing experience. Is there specific analysis software that you need to learn how to use? Is there a certain technique that you would like to become familiar with, but no one at your home institution can help you with? Is there an issue that you would like to discuss with other students from around the country? If so, it might be the perfect topic for a Botany 2007 pre-conference workshop! These workshops will be held just before the annual scientific meeting and will be designed specifically for students on topics especially important to students. Topics need to be able to be addressed in a day-long session.

If you have a topic idea (or two), please e-mail it to me at mackenzie@utk.edu by October 31st. Also, tell me if you know of someone who might be willing to lead a workshop. All feasible ideas will be presented to the student members and we’ll move forward with those that receive the most interest.

Best Regards,
Mackenzie Taylor
