DEAR Professional, Emeritus, Life and Corresponding Members

Student membership and involvement in the Society are on the rise. We hope to foster this vibrant student community. The purpose of this letter is to relay results of a student poll regarding potential workshop topics and seek your help identifing potential workshop leaders.

Mackenzie Taylor, Student Representative to the BSA Executive Council, surveyed the student membership about topics they would like to explore in workshops at the annual meetings (http://www.botany.org/news/newsletters/student061102.php). The students’ top picks were: MrBayes, PAUP, botany grants.

If you would be interested in leading a workshop along these lines this year in Chicago, or next year in Vancouver, please contact Meeting Manager Johanne Stogran (johanne@botany.org). Johanne will provide information about workshop formats and possible perks for your assistance in meeting the students’ interests.

Thank you for your time.
