Dear XXXXX:
As a Society, we should honor and embrace our senior scholars in a manner that highlights their dedication to science, botany and to the BSA. That is why, in 2006, the Botanical Society membership voted unanimously to thank all the emeritus members and acknowledge your contributions by making the emeritus membership category a non-dues, life-membership.
As an Emeritus Member you will receive, at no charge, all emails, newsletters, and updates from the Society, a copy of each Plant Science Bulletin, and online access to all BSA materials, including the entire American Journal of Botany. You also have the ability to purchase the print version of the AJB and to maintain all of your sectional affiliations, but to do so you must go through the simple renewal process.
Your emeritus membership will be automatically renewed each year by BSA staff. However, if you wish to join a section, update your shipping/contact information, make a gift to the Society, or purchase this year’s print version of the American Journal of Botany, we encourage you to renew online at:

Your access details are: Username: XXXX

We want to encourage you to stay engaged and involved in the Society. Please consider joining us for our annual meeting in Vancouver, July 26-30. The Botanical Society of America is growing and evolving and your historical perspective is critical. In leading and shaping the international community of plant scientists, the BSA needs your experience, knowledge, and expertise.
Keep in mind that BSA also offers the opportunity to provide gift memberships to students or associate memberships to plant scientists working in developing nations who might not otherwise be able to afford a membership. To give a gift membership, please visit the following websites:

For associate members- https://payments.scientific-conference.net/associatememberships.php
As an emeritus member of the Botanical Society of America, we thank you for the years of service and loyalty that you have shown to the BSA. Please don’t hesitate to contact the BSA staff or leadership of the Society at any time.
Sincerely,
William M Dahl

Mission: The Botanical
Society of America exists to promote botany, the field of basic science dealing
with the study and inquiry into the form, function, development, diversity,
reproduction, evolution, and uses of plants and their interactions within the
biosphere.
The objectives of The Society are to: sustain
and provide improved formal and informal education about plants; encourage basic
plant research; provide expertise, direction, and position statements concerning
plants and ecosystems; and foster communication within the professional botanical
community, and between botanists and the rest of humankind through publications,
meetings, and committees.
