Dear Members of the Developmental and Structural Section, In anticipation of Botany 2005 in Austin, I want to encourage those of you who have an interest in proposing a symposium for Developmental and Section sponsorship at Botany 2006 to prepare a preliminary proposal for discussion at the upcoming business meeting. Please contact our program chair Bruce Kirchoff (kirchoff@uncg.edu) as soon as possible about your symposium proposals. Please also note on Tuesday, August 16th 9:15 am to 9:45 am in Salon A - Gov Ballroom/Hilton the Development and Structural Section is sponsoring a different type of Contributed Papers session. During this time period it is possible to present short (5 minutes) "Drop-in Papers" that are designed to stimulate discussion. This is the place to bring that untested idea, that question on technique, or to look for collaborators on a new project. If the session is successful, it will be included it in future meetings.
