90th Anniversary Issue of the American Journal of Botany
In October, the BSA will publish an "INVITED SPECIAL PAPERS"
- 90th Anniversary Issue of the American Journal
of Botany. Dr. Niklas and the AJB staff have put together
a fantastic group of papers in celebration of 90 years of publishing outstanding
botanical science.
If you are currently receiving a print copy of the journal
you will receive the issue as per normal. If you're not, we thought you
might like the opportunity to purchase this special Anniversary Issue
on its own. For those who ordered a copy before the October 4th deadline,
YOU WILL ALSO BE GETTING YOUR ISSUE in the normal AJB mailing. If you

for Nominations - BSA Officers
Nominations for President Elect and Program Director are now open. The

Please take the time to recognize the outstanding botanical works of your

4. Call for Abstracts -
BOTANY 2005
The BOTANY 2005 "Call for Abstracts" has been placed on the
BSA website. The overall submission format has changed slightly. Six presentation
options are available, and each presentation requires an abstract (CONTRIBUTED
PRESENTATIONS: Oral Paper, Poster, Discussion Session,
Education Forum Session; INVITED PRESENTATIONS: Symposium
or Colloquium Presentation, Special Lecture). Please see
the notification via the link listed below.
The deadline for abstract submissions is April 1, 2005
(the abstract submission process will open January 5, 2005). All abstracts
and the final program will be available online at the BOTANY 2005 web
site prior to the conference, and hard copies will be distributed on-site

BSA Membership Renewal
Membership renewals are coming in at a good pace. Roughly a quarter of
you have renewed to date. Thanks for taking the time to complete this
