Dear Section Chairs: The membership committee is currently looking at ways to increase our membership, especially by adding new student members. We know that several of the sections have special incentives for students. I would like to compile a list of the types of things that the sections are doing for their students. For example, some sections provide money for students to attend conferences, attend banquets or dinners during the conference, and prizes for best student papers. It would help us out greatly to know what your section does in addition to the BSA's committment for lower student registration fees and waived registration for projectionists. Please drop me a line and let me know if your section does additional things for students other than the posted awards for student papers.
